Its good that Willie has met a new friend named Zach. He is "coming out of his shell" and getting stronger. I think Mr. Tom is nervous about the war but isnt showing it. It was sad when they walked past the paint store and that Mr. Tom was scared to go in because the last time he was in there is daughter was alive. I wonder if Willie knows??
This week Good Night Mr. Tom has been interesting. I got a bit confused when Mr. Tom had flashbacks about Rachel when he passed the paint shop with Willie. Who is Rachel? I have met the new character, Zach. It was funny when Tom thought he was a girl at first. I wonder what's yet to come.
Hi guys, its me again! So this time I thought that William is kinda trying to make some friends. He met Zach in the post office, and Zach found him at his temporary home (Mr. Tom's house). Zach says that he only likes to talk to people he likes, even if he doesn't know them. I was curious why you think Zach liked Willie right away, and why do you think Willie reacted to this in that way. Another question I had was, I know this is kind of out of context right now in the book, Why do you think Willie couldn't read or wright? And it did say in the book that he went to school. Please respond to my questions!
Willie probably doesn't know about Rachel Zoe. Tom hasn't said anything about her to him. Maybe he was so nervous because Willie was like a child to Tom and it was like having a child at the paint shop again.
Sorry you guys my computer just loaded, ok so I am so into this book!I'm glad Willie has started to bcome his own person. Like you guys I was also wondering about the paint shop thing. what do you guys think is wrong with Mr. Tom when he's in the paint shop, why uis he afaird to face his past? I'm close to finishing and I'm exited to see what happens in the end!
About how old is Zach? This is way back in the book, but when Tom visited that person's house in the very beginning and there was a girl there, Tom and someone else was talking about Willie and that girl together. Do you think they were trying to set them up or something?
so i thought that blogging was fun, but that still meant that we really didn't get to talk to the members in our group as a preson, not through the computer, it was a cool experience.
This blogging thing has been a blast. Although, I think that it might just be better to talk about it because more often I am sitting right next to someone in my group. The technology has then gone a little too far.
Each week, you will be required to respond to the section of reading you have completed. Include questions, reactions, favorite parts, etc. You then must respond to what each of your other lit circle members wrote as well. Be sure to provide possible answers to your team members’ questions. Ask them questions about their reactions to the reading. Have fun!
Example Response
John Smith: Wow! I am so interested in this book. Could you imagine being orphaned at our age and having to be able to survive on our own? Crispin has no other relatives to take him in, and it sounds like he is not very accepted in his village. I wonder why John Aycliff is after him? Life was so different during this time period. People could be killed for doing what we consider very minor things. Life sure was difficult. I am curious to know what you guys think about this book. Do you think Crispin will stay in Stromford or run away? How will he escape John Aycliff?
BLOG #3 DISCUSSION IDEAS
Discuss the injustices that occur in your book(s). Provide specific examples and your reaction.
Knowing what we do now about the Holocaust and the murder of over 6,000,000 Jewish people, how do you feel knowing that there are genocides still going on today? It is estimated that anywhere between 200,000- 400,000 civilians have been killed in Darfur since 2003. What does this say about our civilization that events like this still occur? What can we do to help prevent this type of situation from occurring?

Zoe, I thought that Rachel was his wife.

Willie reacted that way because he had no other person ever like him. And i dont know who rachel is... wife?
Yes i think you are right Aine
Willie says that his school teacher didn't like him much. Maybe his teacher abused him too.
yes and he said that kids at school called him sissie willie
So I read my original comment again, and I spelled "write" wrong, sorry!
I wonder what Zach has been through(friendwise) Do you think he has the same situation as Willie?
I also thought that the kids teasing him was sad because they didn't know what he ws going through at home.
o hahah. So if you were to rate this book from a one to ten what would you rate it?? i would give it a 9 1/2
yes i think Zach is staying at someones house just like Willie.
They really don't give a lot of backround info on Zach, do they?

I might give the book a 7 because it is really long, and some things that they put in didn't need to be there.

didn't like the parents choose who you were going to marry, or am i thinking like in ancient times?
Zach is a couple months older than Willie.
ya i agree maddi it is long but it makes the book very intresting because you get to learn about the characters on a more personal level
I really likes the blogging! It was a fun way to talk to other people about the book! I reccomend it for next year.

I like the blogging but i think the blogging would have been a better expirience if we could have blogged with people in other classes and hours
