This book is great. I can't believe how scary that would be to get shot at in the dark. When Eddy's friend gets that splinter in his mouth, I was shocked. That would hurt like crazy. Did you guys like this book?
Now that I finished the book I think that it is really good. At the begining it wasn't that good and the the end wasn't good but the majority of the middle it was good. What do you guys think happened to his after the end of the book even if he was a made up carractor? I think Graham Salisbury would make Eddy be okay. What awards do you think he would win? Probobly the Purple heart and the bravery award.
I was really surprised when I looked in the back of the book and found out this was a true story. I wonder if they still use suicide dogs today, or was that only during world war 2?
I think i would like to talk it through together face to face because it takes to long to type an entry and then you have to wait a little while longer to get a response. but idid like how it was quiet instead of everyone talking over eachother
I liked talking about the books through blogs, I just think it would be easier to get in our groups, an talk about it. That would save us a lot class time. But, we atleast know how to blog, and what it's like.
Each week, you will be required to respond to the section of reading you have completed. Include questions, reactions, favorite parts, etc. You then must respond to what each of your other lit circle members wrote as well. Be sure to provide possible answers to your team members’ questions. Ask them questions about their reactions to the reading. Have fun!
Example Response
John Smith: Wow! I am so interested in this book. Could you imagine being orphaned at our age and having to be able to survive on our own? Crispin has no other relatives to take him in, and it sounds like he is not very accepted in his village. I wonder why John Aycliff is after him? Life was so different during this time period. People could be killed for doing what we consider very minor things. Life sure was difficult. I am curious to know what you guys think about this book. Do you think Crispin will stay in Stromford or run away? How will he escape John Aycliff?
BLOG #3 DISCUSSION IDEAS
Discuss the injustices that occur in your book(s). Provide specific examples and your reaction.
Knowing what we do now about the Holocaust and the murder of over 6,000,000 Jewish people, how do you feel knowing that there are genocides still going on today? It is estimated that anywhere between 200,000- 400,000 civilians have been killed in Darfur since 2003. What does this say about our civilization that events like this still occur? What can we do to help prevent this type of situation from occurring?

Dogs are still used today in the army.
Read pages 223-225... it's really cool.
When the boys are told that they are going to be dog bait, why do you think nobody spoke out.
They were probobly afraid they would be put in prison or something.
