Hello, I really like this book. I has tought me a lot about racism, and prejudice. Nothing much to exciting has happened yet except the jackboots & stuff. There are a lot of little exciting details. And funny ones. Like how Misha took the little girls birthday cake and made friends with her. Mostly just cute though.
Again, I think this book is very interesting. I realized that Stopthief is finding himself in a lot of trouble. Between the Jackboots and Uri's friends, Stopthief has his work cut out for him. I can't believe how cruel the Germans, and others, were to Jews. I also thought it was sad when Stopthief found out that Jackboots, what he wanted to be, killed Jews. He is a Jew.
Ya its sad that Misha wants to be someone terrible like that. Well in general for anyone to want to do that, but now that he knows I think that he changed his mind. Agreed he is a Jew and for someone not realizing that they were torchering people like that is very sad.

Example Response
John Smith: Wow! I am so interested in this book. Could you imagine being orphaned at our age and having to be able to survive on our own? Crispin has no other relatives to take him in, and it sounds like he is not very accepted in his village. I wonder why John Aycliff is after him? Life was so different during this time period. People could be killed for doing what we consider very minor things. Life sure was difficult. I am curious to know what you guys think about this book. Do you think Crispin will stay in Stromford or run away? How will he escape John Aycliff?
BLOG #3 DISCUSSION IDEAS
Discuss the injustices that occur in your book(s). Provide specific examples and your reaction.
Knowing what we do now about the Holocaust and the murder of over 6,000,000 Jewish people, how do you feel knowing that there are genocides still going on today? It is estimated that anywhere between 200,000- 400,000 civilians have been killed in Darfur since 2003. What does this say about our civilization that events like this still occur? What can we do to help prevent this type of situation from occurring?
