Hey! Its Zoe. Ok the book is getting really itense! It is really sad and its hard to read about how Willie is so troubled. When Mr. Tom and him went to the store and Mr. Tom asked him to pick out a comic and lopllipop, he was so surprised he didnt know what to do. He had never been asked to choose anything ever in his life. When you are at the staore or where ever, you just take for granted picking things out. For Willie, that was a huge deal. When Mr. Tom and willie went to go get some new boots, Willie trembled that the new boots were actually for him. Why do you think Willie was so bad when he was back with his mother? But its good that Mr. Tom is nice to him and not mean like his mother..
Mr. Tom is being so kind and gentle with Willie. I thought it was so sweet when Tom cut the thread connecting his undershirt to his underwear and promised him to replace it before he left. Why do you think Willie's mom did that? I think that now that Tom is taking better care of Willie that Willie's mother, they will be so close, that Willie will stay with Tom. I was shoked when willie didn't know so many things like dogs, cows, and socks.
So I thought that this part of the book was very interesting. Willie is getting moire used to living with Tom. I also thought that it was really sad when Tom got so upset when he saw the belt in Willies bag and said that he never hit a child and never will. I also found it interesting that Tom cut open Willies pants and shirt apart and kind of disobeyed everything the mom said or did. ery unprerpared. He didn't have any boots or a good coat. I also hve a question, What do you think a jersey is and what is it used for?
Good Night Mr. Tom has been more intresting this week. For staters, I think that Mr. Tom and Willie have gotten a lot closer, and I think that Willie trusts Mr. Tom more. Something that that when Mr. Tom found Willie's bruises, Willie was ashamed of them. I don't know why he was, I think it's because his mother would tell him that she was punishing him for the "sins" when she would hurt him even though he wasn't really sinning. Another thing I thought was just wierd was when Mr. Tom found out that Willie's mom sewed him pants to his under shirt because I thought that was just crazy! Why would someone ever do that to their child? But when Mr.Tom got him into new clothes and helped Willie fell more comforatable I was happy.
I think that Willie acted so badly with his mother because he disliked her greatly. Maybe he feels more confortable with Tom and he doesn't want Tom to start abusing him too. I really don't know what a jersy is. Maybe a coat? -Wow! I got the thingy on my A in my name to work!!!
Aine he wasn't bad at his own home his mom just thought he was sinning when he really wasn't, and Zoe she sewed his pants toghether so he couldn't take them off and he wouldn't need as many clothes

Each week, you will be required to respond to the section of reading you have completed. Include questions, reactions, favorite parts, etc. You then must respond to what each of your other lit circle members wrote as well. Be sure to provide possible answers to your team members’ questions. Ask them questions about their reactions to the reading. Have fun!
Example Response
John Smith: Wow! I am so interested in this book. Could you imagine being orphaned at our age and having to be able to survive on our own? Crispin has no other relatives to take him in, and it sounds like he is not very accepted in his village. I wonder why John Aycliff is after him? Life was so different during this time period. People could be killed for doing what we consider very minor things. Life sure was difficult. I am curious to know what you guys think about this book. Do you think Crispin will stay in Stromford or run away? How will he escape John Aycliff?
BLOG #3 DISCUSSION IDEAS
Discuss the injustices that occur in your book(s). Provide specific examples and your reaction.
Knowing what we do now about the Holocaust and the murder of over 6,000,000 Jewish people, how do you feel knowing that there are genocides still going on today? It is estimated that anywhere between 200,000- 400,000 civilians have been killed in Darfur since 2003. What does this say about our civilization that events like this still occur? What can we do to help prevent this type of situation from occurring?

I think willie's ashamed of his bruises because he is ashamed of his actions.
