Hello. For Freedom is such a depressing book so far. I was really sad when the bomb went off. I thought it was really sad when Madame died, and therfore, so did her baby. It was very gross when they went into detail about all the gore and the blood on the ground. I feel very bad for Suzzane and her family. It was very wrong for the German nazis to just take over there house like that. I think the overall message about this book it noticing that we are very lucky for all the things in our life that we have. Doensn't hearing the story about the bomb just make you realize how lucky we are for being Americans?

Hello? Does anyone want to discuss this with me?

I love this book so far. It is very interesting and keeps the action going. It never slows down and gets really boring. I also love how the author doesn't use alot of hard words because my vocabulary is very small. I havn't read vary much but already alot has happened and I know alot of the characters. I am not sure who Maman is, though; is it her mom? I can't wait to see what will happen to Yvette and Suzanne. Will Yvette ever recover? With Suzanne leave her Paris?

Uh...Sure Marie I will. I know it was so gross! And how they described the unborn baby. It's so sad.

HELLO! I am enjoying this book... even though I am on page 6. I thought it was kind of disgusting when they were discribing Madam Montgomery's (I forgot her name) open stomach and her baby that fell out of it! I mean what type of person wants to hear that? NOT ME! It's ok just saying she was hit by a bomb and died, but lets not go into too much detail. I also thought it was funny when that lady started to sing dramaticly about something totally pointless! How do you guys like it?

I also find it odd how she keeps on referring to this person is Maman. I wonder if it is a french word. I also find it very intreging (sorry if that's spelled wrong) how Suzanne is a wonderful singer. I wondeer if she will ever persue her dream and finally become an Opera singer.

Really Margot?

Yeah... people in Europe are too polite... it bugs me

I find it interesting, but a little sad. I like happy books, because I usually tear up pretty eaisly. But it is written very well, and I like the author's style of writting.

Not like a nice polite, just grammer wise

For Freedom reminds me a lot of The Breadwinner and Parvana's Journey. Just because of all the people dieing and bombs being dropped like in the Breadwinner series. The war in The Breadwinner is similar to the war in For Freedom. They both were caused by a group of people not liking another type of people. Does the Breadwinner remind you of For Freedom? What would do if you knew Hilter was coming? I'd probably flee the country or flee to another place in the country. How would you feel if someone you had known your whole life got their head blown off? What would you do if bombs started falling all around you?

Well i guess people in Europe aren't that polite, but grammer wise they are! Especially like 70 years ago!

f5 is refresh just so you guys know

Wait, Mary Jane what chapter are you on? I am on chapter 7. After the nazis take over there house (sorry to ruin the suprise, Margot) it gets kind of boring. I can't believe Suzzane risked her life just to get a few baby pictures from her house! I mean, she could have gotten killed, over some dumb baby pictures!

Margot Adams :) said...

woops i said that twice

Mary Jane said...

Yes, it does remind me of the bread winner because Lela got blown up, too!

Marie, I agree with you. We in the US have had experience with a bomb or two, but we've never really been bombed and bombed, and bombed. We are very lucky here in the US!

Marie said...

Oh, hi Robby. How do you like the book so far? And if I saw someones head got blown off, I would faint. I don't know how Suzzane pulled herself together. I would have been mortified for days, just llike her best friend.

Mary Jane said...

Same here. I think that the styles of writtings are almost identical in those books, as well. They are both fantastic reads, also. They also both have an element of sadness to them, as well.

ALL OF YOU ARE FAR!!!!!! well i started yesturday!!!!!!

Do any of you guys know who the heck Maman is!?

Marie! said...

margot without you this conversation would have sounded like a bunch of librarians, so thank you... I guess

MJ said...

I read REALLY slow but for some reason i read this book fast.

margot said...

its Madam! The polite way to address a women!!! (in europe i guess)

MJ said...

This page says it's 9:09

Marie said...

Probably her mother. Just guessing though. It may be one of those characters that plays a bigger part than you would think, athough right now it sounds unimportant.

Robby said...

Margot, the reason they went into detail about the baby is because sad things like that did happen during the war.

MJ said...

maybe

MARGOT hehe said...

I know but if someone who is reading this book who gets grossed out easily, they should sue the author because they got book poisening... like when you get sick because you are grossed out...

MJ said...

Marie- did you say it gets really boring?

MArie! said...

Yes, I agree with Robby. A lot of times people cheat the truth in these scenerios because it is so sad. But I also kind of agree with Margot. Who wants to read about a bunch of icky headless babys?

Robby said...

Sorry I published the last one twice!

Marie said...

Well, ya sor of. I mean after all the action, nothing very important happens for a while.

Marie said...

Bye!!
